Ancient and startling petroglyphs found: perhaps of Nephilim?

There is a biblical subject I can safely say fascinates many Christians: the Nephilim.

The interpretation of Genesis 6:1-8 has in recent times been a controversy, but did you know that until the 4th century that it was uniformly - and correctly - interpreted with no controversy? The Septuagint actually translates 'sons of God' as angels, because that is who they are. Here is the text. It says what it says:

"When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years." The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown. The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the LORD said, "I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them." But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD."

The bible records after the Fall of man in Genesis 3 that there were sons of God who mated with daughters of man and spawned a race of giants. They were called the Nephilim. Many have ascribed the resulting hybrid race as the Nephilim but the word nephal means to fall, and I believe the Nephilim are actually the fallen angels who did the mating. The fallen angels/Nephilim who did the deed are in chains in the gloomiest dungeon now, as punishment for corrupting man, and as a warning to others who might try the same thing again. (Jude 1:6)

The topic has gotten an unsavory tinge to it not only due to the unwarranted controversy because of the incorrect interpretation, but because I would think also the sexual mating.

Let's look at the verse. The angels mated with woman, and in the next verse God declared His Spirit would not strive with man forever. Then the verse says that they were the mighty men of renown, and the LORD declares the earth was evil, He was sorry He had made man, and He will wipe out man (except Noah.)

If the evil of man and the cataclysmic judgment of same was inextricably tied to the Nephilim, don't you think it behooves us to study it?? Especially since Jesus said that the days before the next cataclysmic judgment would be like the Days of Noah??? (Matthew 24:37). Avoiding this topic makes no sense.

When I read archaeological sites and they present petroglyphs of ancient alien-like beings, I personally believe they are depicting the Nephilim who were on earth on those days. Nephilim are aliens: off-planet dwellers visiting earth, bringing with them their superior knowledge and powers, and shining with a bright light. After all, how did the Pyramids get built? What are the Nazca Lines? Why were there such advanced civilizations at places like Peru's Machu Picchu or the US Southwest's Anasazi, which mysteriously died out just as quickly as they appeared? When the Nephilim were on earth on those days, I am sure that they were plenty busy, and not just with women. They didn't come here just to mate, but to thwart God's plan. Remember, satan's goal is to be like the Most High, to be worshiped. Satan has a plan, too. (Isaiah 14:13-15). The Nephilim were busy interacting with man in a way that would corrupt civilization in every arena, including spiritual as well as emotional, agricultural, geo-physical, sexual, societal... And by the verse in Genesis 6:5, they were successful.

There are ancient petroglyphs showing strange looking 'alien-like' beings. Often they are depicted with glowing heads or as shining beings. Also they are often depicted as being very large in size. Here's one:

This one is also from Australia, where
the new petroglyphs were discovered
Today some ancient rock art was discovered that not only depict otherworldly type beings, but they are drawn in the act of having sex. The news articles (lol, the UK Daily Mail tabloid would be the first to pick up on it...) are snickeringly calling it "ancient porn." The intricate paintings depict strange looking and rather large men having relations with women. Here is the news article link:

Aboriginal erotic rock art proves that – even 28,000 years ago – men had ONE thing on their minds

The area is only accessible by a 90-minute helicopter ride into the Australian interior. I thought that was probably the most interesting fact in the whole article. Though the article reports the archaeologists as dating the rock art to 28,000 years ago, Christians know that cannot be true. However it does indicate the ancient age of the art, raising the likelihood of it having been drawn at the time the Nephilim were on the earth.

Now, a caution. While I said up above that it behooves us to study the Nephilim, I meant from the bible. There are a host of weird and flaky websites that have wild theories and many frankly are spam sites. We study man's fallen condition from his progression from his creation in Genesis 1, to his fall in Genesis 3, to the depths of corruption in Genesis 6. Chasing after ancient aliens diverts us from studying the Most High God.

Another note: The Daily Mail is known for its large photos with lots of short captions in between. If you click on the headline above from the Daily Mail, be aware that there is a large photo showing the large men in the petroglyphs and they all sport something else that is extremely large, too.

Here are a couple of links to essays that deal with the Genesis 6 text in expositional fashion. The information is from solid sources. Do go there and read them, if you have any questions about the interpretation of the Nephilim passages.

Future prophecy: "Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, for they have come down to you"

Satan has the biggest ego in all the universe, bar none. In the sometime distant past, the bible does not say when, Satan decided he could do a better job than God. He is accused of the following:

"How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, “I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” But you are brought down to the grave, to the depths of the pit." (Isaiah 14:12-15 ESV).

This famous passage is called the 'Five I Wills' of Satan. Most people think the phrase 'you have been cast down to the earth' means satan was cast out of heaven back then and barred from re-entering. But it is not so. He was cast down from his position as guardian cherub (Ezekiel 28:14) but Job 1:6 shows us that satan and his rebelling angels still had access to heaven. They still do today.

Satan's final fall and exile from heaven will occur in Revelation 12, when there is "War in Heaven."

"Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!” (Rev 12:7-12).

Scholars believe that event is what triggers the Great Tribulation, the turning point halfway through the 7-year period of judgment on earth. Satan's fury at his loss of access to heaven will be unleashed against the Jews and then the Christians. (Rev 12:13, 17)

I'd like to tie Rev 12 to two other verses that are prophesied to occur during the Tribulation. Just food for interpretive thought. First, Luke 21:26 KJV- "Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken." The phrase fainting in the Greek means "to leave off breathing, to die." The "with fear" is Greek for a word that means "panic flight, fear, the causing of fear, terror." The powers of heaven being shaken, the Greek word for shaken means "cast down". (source)

So men will have instant heart attacks and be fleeing in terror when they see something coming down from heaven. What? What is it that they are seeing which causes such panic and hear-attack inducing terror? Meteors? Asteroids? UFOs?

I'd like to think that it is the Revelation verse that they are seeing. It is my belief that when Satan and his angels are cast down, they no longer hide who they are. Satan and the full-on evil angels reveal themselves visibly and no one will be unawares any longer. Imagine seeing multitudes of evil angels and satan himself falling from heaven and appearing on earth- visibly.

We are visited by angels constantly. They are present upon the earth, the good angels and the bad angels. Most of the time, we are not aware of them, though. Hebrews 13:2 says we have entertained them unawares. Abraham entertained angels unaware, didn't he? And Gideon. And Minoah. And the evil angels too, are on the earth, but if they appeared to us as they are, with their evil showing, we would reject them. So satan, despite having a big ego, is perfectly content to allow us to think he is a tiny man with a funny tail and pitchfork and his rebellious, powerful, and highly intelligent minions are cute little cherubs falling asleep after dinner. Satan is content to let you think he is not powerful, while all the while himself thinking he is the most powerful, even more than God.
Who would be afraid of this guy?
Sistine Madonna detail, Raphael. Aw, aren't they cute.
Rosso Fiorentino "Two cherubs reading,
detail from Madonna and Child with Saints". So cuddly.
They don't look like they could do much, do they?

Yet, if my interpretation of Luke 21:26 is correct, that it is speaking of the powers of heaven falling to earth when men see the actual satan and the evil angels invading earth, men die on the spot. Add to that this verse, the second one I believe ties in:

"And the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star fallen from heaven to earth, and he was given the key to the shaft of the bottomless pit. He opened the shaft of the bottomless pit, and from the shaft rose smoke like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened with the smoke from the shaft. Then from the smoke came locusts on the earth, and they were given power like the power of scorpions of the earth." (Rev 9:1-3). Illustration is of the trumpets and the locusts from the abyss, Matthias Scheits

The evil is raining down from above and hurtling up from below. I don't know if they both happen at the same time, but either way, it will be a time of shock and death.

Am I exaggerating? Let's see how the shepherds reacted when a holy angel, bringing good news and helps,  visited them.

"An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified." (Luke 2:9)

How about Zechariah's reaction when an angel visited him?

Zechariah and the angel.
Gillem van der Gouwen. 1728
"When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear." (Luke 1:12)

How about Mary?

"Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be." (Luke 1:29)

Cornelius?

"He distinctly saw an angel of God, who came to him and said, “Cornelius!” Cornelius stared at him in fear..." (Acts10:3-4a)

In all these cases it is AN angel of the Lord, which means a holy angel, not THE angel of the Lord, which means Jesus. And they all were terrified. To calm the person they were about to speak to, they first said, "Fear not."

If people are terrified when seeing a holy angel obedient to God and here to help us, how do we think the people in the Tribulation will react when the evil angels are unleashed? Their hearts will fail them for fear.

Ron Graham explains the Genesis 6 verses about the unholy angels, here. Patrick Heron explains the entrance of the unholy angels upon the earth further, below. He gives the book of Enoch more authority than I give to it, but he does do a good job leading us through the present day common misinterpretations of Genesis 6. So does Mr Graham. Check them out if you'd like to explore this idea further.

We are blessed to know Jesus as Savior, Priest, Advocate and Friend. We know that if we are visited by an unholy angel that we can appeal to Jesus for protection. He is ALL POWER and in Him we have nothing to fear.

"The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah." (Psalm 46:7).
"The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble." (Psalm 9:9)

But those who refuse Jesus's pardon on this side of the rapture will be faced with seeing these things some upon the earth after the rapture. Please repent now. Repent means to be aware that we are unholy, having sin in us. We can never be with Jesus as long as sin is in us and not addressed. If we repent, He will forgive all that sin and adopt us into His extended family.

Random thoughts: Nephilim, myths, comments, compassion, children, and Jesus the Christ

I am very intrigued by the Nephilim spoken of in Genesis 6. Many people are, and I always get a lot of views on any essay I publish about them. I might research some more about the days of Noah, soon. When I was in high school I was fascinated by Roman and Greek mythology. I studied it all. The Titans, the Olympians ... Cronus was the leader and the youngest of the first generation of Titans, divine descendants of Gaia, the earth, and Uranus, the sky. He overthrew his father and ruled during the mythological Golden Age, until he was overthrown by his own son, Zeus and imprisoned in Tartarus. Tartarus in the bible as we know is the place where Peter described the fallen angels being chained up. (2 Peter 2:4)

I believe the ancient myths are a vestigial memory of the fallen angels, the "mighty men of old" (Genesis 6:4) coming to earth and having supernatural powers ... and we know from the bible that they certainly did take the daughters of men, all that they chose. The myths reflect this lack of self-restraint too. That is practically all they did, always go after women who ended up bearing super-men half breeds like Hercules. Achilles, another demi-god, brings to mind the prophecy in Genesis 3, where God said to satan that satan will strike the heel, and in the myth the heel was the vulnerable spot (but just like all false religions, the truth is that the hero could not be overcome by striking His heel!!) It was just a temporary bruising, and Jesus crushed satan's head through His death and resurrection on the cross.

So I think there is weighty cultural memory and man-made myths stemming from the influx of the original fallen angels and their first interaction with humans as described in Genesis 6. I think the pyramids and the South American ziggurats are results of their superior intellect in building them and using humans to make monuments of worship for them.

The bible doesn't speak much of these events, just gives several tantalizing clues in a few verses. However we know that they and also man's evil were the cause of the flood. So SOMETHING had to have been going on! It will be interesting if Jesus lets us know what really happened when we get to heaven...and we can resolve all these tantalizing glimpses into full knowledge.

On another topic, I want to explain what kind of comments I allow and what will prompt me to delete some. This is not a complete explanation but it is the basic benchmark.

Some people will write in and say "you're crazy." Or "you're mental." If that is all they write I delete it. If they conclude their own cogent argument with that I'll usually allow it and respond.

Some people disagree with me by using a false and true misapplication of scripture to 'prove' their point. They'll say, "Judge not!" or "Touch not God's anointed!" or one of those oft-thrown around misunderstood and out of context verses. I will allow those and then explain the context of the verse and why they are using it incorrectly. I do both of the above so that others reading may learn an insight into the verse.

Some people write a long reply which shows me they are passionate about something, but say something in it that I just cannot allow to go forward. Yesterday someone wrote a long comment and there were many errors in their answer. That is OK, we're all learning. We could have a discussion. But he concluded by saying "Jesus is not God." I deleted it because arguing that would be a fulfillment of casting pearls before swine. (Matthew 7:6). If someone has an incomplete or incorrect understanding of a verse, that is OK and can be discussed. If someone has come to such a false conclusion about the basics of who Jesus is, there is no argument, he has already condemned himself. It is a case of the saved arguing with the unsaved, offering holiness to a person who has already rejected it. I will not participate in allowing such falsity to go out to the unsuspecting. Nope. And worse, usually people who say such things have a website attached to their comment, and so I won't put that forward either.

Profanity never gets a pass. I delete those out of hand.

A new topic. This week was a really rough week. I work in a kindergarten section of an elementary school. We know that times are tight. Parents are stressed to the max to pay the bills to keep a home over their kids' heads and to put food on the table. Kids sense this and more often not only sense it but know it because of the open discussions he parents have in front of them. Yet kids are powerless to change their circumstances. They feel tenuous because their family situation is tenuous. They worry. Sometimes that worry comes out physically and emotionally and it makes for an adventuresome day at school. Today was like that. Please have care and compassion for other people, and for kids. If you're standing in line at a store or at a game or sitting in a restaurant, no one knows what the next person is going through, and everyone needs an extra dose of patience and for sure needs some love. Instead of mentally judging the parent or situation, pay their bill, or offer to help them with their groceries or simply smile.

In the middle of that tough week before our Spring Break, (which has started, yay!) here is a moment. Some of the kindergarten kids I work with had saved up their behavior rewards. If they save up for a short time they get ice cream or a pajama day. But if they save up for a long time they get the big prize, a pizza party. So they did, finally. They brought their beach towels and their sunglasses and we went outside on a 78 degree day with pizza and chips and soda. They spread their towels around and sat next to each other happily. They donned sunglasses and thought themselves so cool. They leaned back on elbows and looked at the clouds, saying "There's a dog!" or "I see a turtle! The pizza was served and they ate all they wanted. Afterwards we were all just lounging on the grass, and suddenly they broke out in song. They sang under the sun, and when they finished they laughed delightedly. Children laughing under the sun in joy is a Godly gift for which I am always thankful.

Last, remember always that Jesus is sovereign, loving, and He is coming! He is my Light and My hope. He is someone I cling to, look toward, and reside in. He is my all in all. Without Him I am nothing but in Him I am made perfect because His power is in me and brushes aside my weakness and is His manifest glory. Everything I accomplish is made possible from Him. Thank you, Jesus.

Outbreak of mass hysteria (or demon infestation) in Leroy NY

Mass hysteria outbreak reported in N.Y. town: What does it mean?
"Why did 12 teens from the same town in upstate N.Y. all begin to experience odd symptoms at once? Doctors say it's an outbreak of mass hysteria. Last fall, 12 teenage girls from LeRoy Junior-Senior High School - located in a town about an hour outside of Buffalo, N.Y. - began to show symptoms similar to those of Tourette's syndrome, including painful shaking and jerking their necks, Gothamist reported. Doctors were initially baffled. The condition was so bad for at least one of the girls that she has yet to return to school. School and state officials investigated the outbreak and school building for several months, and concluded no known environmental substances or infectious agents were found that could have caused the symptoms in the teens. "We have conclusively ruled out any form of infection or communicable disease and there's no evidence of any environmental factor,'' Dr. Gregory Young of the New York Department of Health told MSNBC."

"Sanchez, a cheerleader at the high school, took a nap one day last October then woke up with uncontrollable tics and stutters. Sanchez and another girl on the show with symptoms, 16-year-old Katie Krautwurst, said doctors told them their condition was stress-induced. "They told us it was traumatic, but I really don't think any of us had that traumatic of a life before,' Krautwurst said on Today.

Tourette's is genetic so it's unlikely to be that since the symptoms don't emerge all at once. Also, Tourette's symptoms are 4X more prevalent in boys, so it is highly improbable to be Tourette's because all the symptoms are in only girls.

"A day after the girls' interview, Dr. Laszlo Mechtler, a neurologist at the DENT Neurologic Institute in Amherst, N.Y. who has treated several of the girls, decided to come forward to offer an explanation to quell the curious masses. Mechtler's diagnosis? The girls may have a conversion disorder - also known as mass hysteria."

Conversion disorder is a condition in which the person experiences blindness, paralysis, or other neurologic symptoms that can't be explained by another disease. In other words, a catch-all diagnosis by doctors effectively shrugging their shoulders. The article continues, "the disorder often occurs because of a "psychological conflict. Mechtler told USA Today that when a conversion disorder occurs in a large group, its known as a "mass psychogenic illness," because it affects groups of people in the same environment, such as in a classroom or office. "This is a unique situation, and it is unusual," Mechtler told USA Today."

Other Tourette's symptoms include motor and vocal "tics", twitches, blinks or vocal exclamations that the sufferer cannot control. Tourette's is also characterized by behavioral symptoms like excessive-complusive disorder and attention-deficit disorder. Tourette's sufferers may also be overly aggressive towards others.

Conversion disorder is marked by numbness, blindness, paralysis or fits. Also, outbursts, shaking and tics.

Now, the medical establishment said that what is happening in Leroy is unusual. The people in the town said it was unusual, so much so, that the school department held a meeting for the area's concerned parents. It is unusual.

The Leroy NY made me think of our nations' most famous case of mass hysteria with demonic influences underlying it, also incited by teenaged girls, was Salem Massachusetts. It happened in 1692 and it is known as the Salem Witch Trials.

"The traditional story about the beginning of the Salem Witch trials tells of a "circle of young girls" practicing voodoo and fortune telling under the direction of Samuel Parris' Indian slave, Tituba. It is commonly suggested that the girls were interested in fortune telling because they wanted to know the occupation of their future husbands."

"According Paul Boyer and Stephen Nissenbaum's account in Salem Possessed, the outbreak at Salem began in the winter of 1691 when the girls of the village, aided by Tituba and John Indian, a West Indian slave couple, attempted to tell their futures by using a makeshift crystal ball."

We know that this is occult activity, better known as a neon advertisement for satan to enter. (2 Kings 17:17; Lev 19:31; Is 8:19...)

Research indicates the Salem girls' symptoms emerged quickly, similar to the Leroy NY girls'.

In this research it states, "Mary Beth Norton's work, In the Devil's Snare. According to historical fact, both Abigail and her 9-year-old cousin Betty began showing signs of illness in mid-January 1692. When their behavior turned erratic, Samuel Parris called neighboring Reverend John Hale of Beverly to observe the two girls and their afflictions. Reverend Hale writes that the girls, "were bitten and pinched by invisible agents; their arms, necks and backs turned this way and that way and returned back again so as it was impossible for them to do of themselves and beyond the power of any Epileptic Fits or natural Disease to effects." Parris and other local ministers turned to prayer and fasting in hopes that Abigail and Betty would return to health. When the girls' strange behavior continued, Parris summoned Dr. William Griggs to examine them. Dr. Griggs determined that the girls were under the influence of an "Evil Hand."

The emergence of strange behavior related to demonic possession in Salem in 1692 as now in NY 2012 are similar. We look to the bible to see what demons can do. The Gadarene demoniac described in Mark shows how they can change the physiology of the one they possess:

Mark 5:1-20 is one of the most specific passages in the bible on demon possession and its effects. Some of the details about demons the Bible reveals in this passage are: (source)
--Devils enjoy or need to be near dead human bodies or tombs (vs. 2, 3, 5).
--They can cause unusual strength in the one they inhabit (vs. 3-4).
--They can make a person unreasonable or immune to sensible persuasion (vs. 4).
--They cause excessive crying (vs. 5).
--They cause sadistic and masochistic behavior (vs. 5).
--They have an affinity for heights (vs. 5).
--They recognize Christ as "the Son of God" and appeal to Him (vs. 6-7).
--They know they deserve torment and dread it (vs. 6-7).
--They have names (vs. 9).
--More than one can possess the same body (vs. 9).
--They desire to remain in the same geographical region or "country" they inhabit (vs. 10).
--They would rather indwell an animal body than none at all (vs. 12).
--They can cause animals to kill themselves (vs. 13).
--They desire to be in a body (vs. 13).

Mark 9:17-29 gives us even more details about devils:
--They can cause dumbness and deafness (vs. 17, 25).
--They cause rabid animal like behavior (vs. 18).
--They can indwell from childhood (vs. 21).
--They cause suicidal behavior (vs. 22).
--They resist leaving a body and violently "rent" it while leaving (vs. 26).
--There are different kinds of devils. Some have more power than others (vs. 29).
--Some can only be removed by prayer and fasting of believer (vs. 29).

Lessons from this incident: Demonic possession happens. It happened then, it happens no. Secondly, Ron Graham wrote an excellent article this week about the fallen angels, the Nephilim, and their human offspring, the human hybrids. In the article, he said, "But the dimension of the malevolent supernatural is invading our world and they are becoming more and more brazen with their antics, allowing many people to see things they don’t want to see, or hear things no human can explain."

That is well said. Whatever is going in in NY, and medical science has ruled out disease and drugs, then perhaps we can remember that the days before Jesus returns will be like the Days of Noah, which in addition to being totally evil and cultural, moral, and spiritual decay were days that were permeated with demonic activity (Gen 6:1-2; 4,6).

Are vampire babies even possible?

That is the trending question today on Yahoo!. Apparently the success of the Twilight series on books and film is continuing unabated. Twilight is the saga of a 'nice' vampire- Edward- and the human woman he loves - Bella. They married and now she is pregnant with an undead vampire-human hybrid. A werewolf is the point of view from which the series is told.

This saga is very popular in many levels. Young women, and not a few men, think that it is romantic. It is romantic, they swoon, that Edward doesn't bite Bella to make her be undead, too. He has been instilled with a sense of morality by his father, a real human, and thus Edward refuses to consider humans as food. (This is what passes for morality these days?). So readers love Edward's restraint. They love the series' romanticism because of Edward's gallantry, even though he needs to subsist on blood and that means killing things and drinking blood.

The latest iteration of the series focuses on Bella and her baby. The trending question is an interesting one. We passed go when we accepted that vampires could be nice. We apparently cruised by the point of accepting or not accepting that there could be the undead walking around. We long hurtled beyond the horizon of incredulity over marriage and sexual relationships between human and otherworldly bloodthirsty creatures who usually only want to destroy humans. Now we're onto inter-species baby-making. The opening of the latest movie is said to bring in 140 million dollars. No small change, and Breaking Dawn is the fourth installment! This series is a moneymaker, its popularity and ability to rake in the money never seem to wane.

This acceptance, curiosity, and  romanticism of otherworldly creatures has a biblical precedent. As Solomon said in Ecclesiastes, there is nothing new under the sun. (Ecc 1:9). In Genesis 6 we read the following:

"So when men began to be multiplied upon the earth, and there were daughters born unto them, Then the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair, and they took them wives of all that they liked. (Gen 6:1-2). There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. (Gen 6:4)."

The sons of God are the angels. The angels being mentioned in the Genesis verse are the fallen angels, the ones who are rebuked for having left their first estate and are now incarcerated in gloomy dungeons. (June 1:6; 2 Peter 2:4). Angels are referred to as the sons of God in Job 1:6, and in Job 38:7, it is a common term for them. Some have been shown in the bible to manifest as humans, even though they are spirit men. (Hebrews 13:2).  We know that Jesus said that the angels do not marry, (Mark 12:25) but not that they cannot marry, and by extension, have intercourse with human women. In any case, the bible tells us that they did. They saw the women, took all they wanted, and mated. Their offspring were giants, and they were the mighty men of old. (This is the origin of the Greek myths of the ancient heroes of Hercules etc, who were offspring of 'gods' who came down and mated with women. I wrote about that here). However, these tribes of giant hybrid offspring were upon the earth in those days before the flood, and it was them along with wicked man who pulled the world to the brink of an evil so great that there was only one righteous man left: Noah.

Genesis 6:5 states: "Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." And in Genesis 6:3 the LORD said, "Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” God sent the Flood.

There is precedent for the Lord taking His Spirit from the earth prior to major judgment, as Gen 6:3 says and Paul revealed will also happen prior to the future Tribulation judgments. (2 Thessalonians 2:6). The Lord also said that the last days will be like the Days of Noah, indicating that evil will be almost at a 100% saturation level with evil in men's hearts, the Spirit being removed from His restraining ministry, and also, possibly, the Nephilim coming back.

Are vampire babies even possible, the article's author wondered. Yes, the bible shows us that the old vampires, the fallen angels who beguiled women and hypnotized them into frenzies of lust (as folklore says vampires are wont to do) are likely coming back. The Hollywood and Publishing House preparation and desensitization of the populace to these concepts are going gangbusters. So can you even make a vampire baby? If Genesis 6:4 is to be believed, and it IS, then the answer is yes. My opinion is that there will be plenty of vampiric type shenanigans in the Tribulation.
